Jesse Cook and Juan Medrano - Hembra
Born in Paris to Canadian parents, Jesse Cook is a Toronto - based rumba flamenco guitarist.
During frequent visits to Aries in France where his father lived, jesse became fascinated by the rhytmic , flamenco - rumba that could be heard on many cornes and cafes.
Back at fome in Canada , he continued his studies in clasical and jazz guitar in some North America's most prestigious music school, including the legendary Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Jesse began his amazing career in 1994.A year later, he released his debut album and quicly gained broader acceptance.
His astounding chops, sultry rhythms, and undeniable stage flair combined to make cook one of the stars of the genre.
Since then, he has become a international phenomenon, performimg legendary live shows acroos th globe.
Guitarist, composer and producer Jesse Cook is considered one of the most influential musicians within the "nuevo flamenco" genre. His new video for his track "Hembre" was released, exclusively on AXS.
"I had a blast making this video with my friendJuan Medrano, in his beautiful home town of Cartagena, Colombia. We wrote this song together, and Juan suggested we make a video for it," Cook told AXS.
"His Dad (a baseball coach) and brother (a math teacher) came out to help us film some of the scenes where we were both in the frame. I gave everyone a crash course in shooting ‘full manual’ with Cine Lenses on a steadicam, and they all did amazingly well.
Never think you can't afford to chase your dreams! The budget for this was the cost of two plane tickets. The most fun I've had in years.”
The song comes off of his 10th album Beyond Borders, which is the album in which Cook will be performing during his upcoming tour.
