Latin Jazz & More
Cuban-American jazz pianist announces the world premiere of her debut album “Coño! (But With A Swing),” featuring eleven original tracks composed, arranged and performed by the pianist Deborah “La Cocodrila” De La Torre.
The album’s unique Latin Jazz sound demonstrates Deborah’s distinctive composing and arranging skill, blending genres and Latinx regional influences in edgy ways, sometimes breaking the rules of jazz or classical or both. Her aggressive command of the piano while she thrashes out strenuous rhythms, jagged scales and chromatic chords have earned her the well-deserved nickname “La Cocodrila” (The Lady Crocodile).
